Halloween Stylin’

DSC_0557

Here’s my Halloween style manicure. I used thin nail art tape and OPI’s Tomorrow Never Dies along with Barry M’s Black Nail Paint.

I really like how these colours compliment each other. The Black Nail Paint was a dream to paint over the purple and tape. It’s nice and thick without being gooey. Maybe that’s because it’s a new bottle. I’ve had really goopy black nail polish before, it was Sally Hansen brand.

Tomorrow Never Dies is becoming one of my favourite polishes. It’s a really pretty shade of purple. I think it’s nice for nights out, but it could also be a good day time polish for this time of year. It requires at least 2 coats, because there will be bald patches.

Albanian Manicure

Hey everyone! Today’s post may seem a little random, it’s the Albanian flag.  Last week on my Facebook page I asked if anyone had any ideas for manicures. One suggestion was to do a different flag every once in a while. When I asked what flag I should start with, Albania was the answer. Once I saw the flag I understood why. It’s pretty impressive looking!

Here’s the Albanian flag.

Here’s my Albanian manicure! 🙂 I used OPI and a black nail art polish. I painted on the flag symbol freehand.

So, if you guys have any more suggestions for me let me know either here or on my Facebook page. 🙂

G.I. Jane

Hey everyone, this is today’s manicure. I wanted to get away from the pink/reds I’ve been using recently. I think I managed that! When I decided on an army theme I google imaged  for ideas. A great manicure popped up and I decided to model mine off of it. But the original manicure belongs to Sammy from  http://www.thenailasaurus.com/ so I must give her the credit for today’s design. The photos of this mani are of course my own.

Here’s what I used.

I now have a new rule when I go buy nail polish it must be a new colour or shade and not something I would normally go for. Hopefully this will keep me from becoming repetitive! For example I never would have bought the pale green polish normally. But I was glad I had it when I decided on this theme!

My accent nail.

I used my dotting tool to smear the army colors on.

I’m particularly proud of this post because it’s the first one where I’m using a watermark on my pictures! I feel like it’s a milestone haha! I REALLY hope you guys like this mani!

Happy Halloween!

I co-hosted a Halloween party this weekend and this was my manicure for the occasion! Here’s what I used.

and

The stickers were great. It was easy to apply them and file/cut off the excess. The next day they peeled right off with no problems. They were a bit thick so you really had to press them down at the edges and make sure they wouldn’t curl back up. Apart from that I loved them.

Accent nail. As you have probably guessed I dressed as a cat for Halloween! Hope everyone had a great weekend, what nail art did you wear for Halloween?

Halloween Manicure!

Halloween, I am READY for you!

I wasn’t sure what to do with my nails for this festive occasion. There are so many possibilities !! I looked on Google images and picked five of my favorite looks to make up my spooky manicure!! This look kind of took me out of my comfort zone as it was nail art heavy!  I found the pumpkin really challenging, it was difficult to keep a steady hand! I love how the thumb nail turned out and I love this manicure! I already got complimented on it by a total stranger, that always feels great!

Here are some close-ups.

My favorite is the fangs, what’s yours? 🙂

Flower French Manicure!

I was in a colorful mood what can I say! I really wanted a bright multicolored manicure. Here’s what I used.

This is my flower wheel. I bought in at an online Korean store. I assumed that they were fake but actually these are real pressed flowers!

Cute aren’t they? 🙂

Here’s a close up of each of my nails.

Here’s today’s look  without the flowers.

Don’t Mess With Me Mani

These are my tough girl nails.

Here is what I used to create this manicure. As you’ve probably guessed by now I am a HUGE OPI fan!

I bought the nail art stickers in Japan. I was there recently and was really excited to buy some nail art supplies. Everything was really expensive but I still picked up some nice bits and pieces. (I’m sure these nail stickers can be bought ANYWHERE but since I live in Korea some times nail accessories can be hard to source)

Japanese Cherry Blossoms

I got the inspiration for this manicure from this picture. (and because my fiance loves how cherry blossoms look!)

I love the stark contrast between the red and the white background.

Here’s what I used.

Here’s my base coat. It gave me a lot problems because it was so goopy and gooey. Luckily I read an article this week about how to ‘save’ nail polishes. I put a few drops of nail polish remover in the bottle shook it up and then it was much easier to apply. The polish remover thinned it out nicely.

Without the blossoms the trees kind of  look like Japanese symbols!

Here it is with the blossoms! I didn’t wait long enough for the red polish to dry before I used a top coat. Some of the blossoms ran a little. I need to learn to be more patient!!! 🙂 I still think they look good though!

Lots and Lots a Dots!

Dotting is one of my favourite nail art styles, mainly because it was the first nail art tool I bought. Also, because it’s so easy to do! I especially love this manicure because of the contrasting colors.

For this mani I used Sally Hanson Hard as Nails Xtreme wear ‘Black Out’ & ‘White On’ the blue was a Korean brand polish I picked up in a beauty store.

My trusty dotting tools.
