Momicure! Because sharing is caring! :)

Mom2 Mom1

When someone cooks, cleans, and does laundry for you it’s only fair to pay them back with a manicure every once in a while. Mom’s fav is a french manicure. For this look I used OPI Base Coat, Essie’s Sugar Daddy, Essie’s Blanc and Seche Vite top coat. I was quite happy with how it turned out (mom was too). 🙂

It’s weird painting someone else’s nails! It took me a while to get confident at it. It’s definitely not the same as doing your own. It’s good practice though! 🙂

Essie and Estee – Summer Gradient, Matt style

DSC_0270

The weather in Ireland is usually really mild and it rains a lot. We don’t get scorching hot summers, and our winters aren’t ridiculously cold either. But for the past week the sun has been splitting the rocks here!! (26 degrees Celsius one day!!) Everyone I know went to the beach and had lots of fun. I had to work, but that’s ok. I get burned too easily anyway and don’t want tan lines on my wedding day!

All this hot weather made me crave ice-pops from my childhood. Do you know Tangle Twisters, Brunch, Feasts, Loop the Loops? Well, I’ve had all of them in the past week, (as my trainer would say, ‘disaster’). And their bright colors made me want to paint my nails.

I chose gradient because it’s still a challenge for me. So, I’m trying to perfect it. Expect more!

I used Essie, Blanc and Estee Lauder, Lilac Leather. I also used Modi’s Matt topcoat to give it that frozen look.

I love my Toms! Greg bought them for me last year when he went home to the states. So comfy and cute!

Estee Lauder Lilac Leather – and then some lace! :)

Ha, I think Greg is trying to tell me he’s gonna miss me! He came home with another  Estee Lauder polish yesterday! Perfect timing as I was ready to take off Narcissist. This time I used almost four coats because I wanted it to be really even across the nail. I love the color, but I didn’t want to do a straight up swatch so I decided to add french tips (Essie – blanc) and some lace nail stickers and oh yeah some jewels! I was really in the mood to decorate my nails last night! 🙂

Sheets of these lace stickers are on sale in most beauty stores here in Seoul, I love them! Tonight I’m heading out for dinner and a few drinks  so I’m glad I have girly nails for the occasion! 🙂

My cuticles and skin are really suffering in this weather! I’m moisturizing but it’s just not enough! Maybe the weather in Ireland will be kinder to me.

Jigsaw Nails

Hey everyone!

These are my jigsaw nails. I’ve always wanted to try these out! They look really good but they did take a long time to do. I used, Essie (blanc), OPI (Strawberry Margarita), and The Face Shop (light purple).

I’m looking forward to wearing them out tonight. Every second Tuesday Greg hosts a Trivia night in one of our local bars. It’s always fun to sit with my friends and do the quiz. I’m always really proud of him and the effort he makes to keep it really fun. Tonight is the last night because we are leaving in a couple of weeks. All our friends will be there and I’m really looking forward to the evening  and of course rocking these nails!!! 🙂 1

Ombre Polka Dots

PicMonkey Collage

I’ve been feeling sick for the past few days so I haven’t really been blogging, sorry about that. Hopefully I’ll get more posts up next week. This is my attempt at ombre polka dots. I used Essie blanc, and a brand called Eclipse which I paid about 60c for.I really like the effect, I saw a youtube tutorial on how to create this look and I just had to try it for myself.

Hope everyone has a great weekend! 🙂

Day 14 Pre-Spring Challenge Contest Recreate Your Favorite Look

3

This was my favorite! I got a lot of compliments on it so that’s always a good indication!

I hope you like it too! I changed it a little this time. I swapped a Ciate base coat for Sally Hansen.  The difference is that the sky is a little brighter and sparkly. Here’s the first version.

I’m sad that the challenge is over now, I had a lot of fun and it was really great to pick up a few new techniques and see everyone’s manicure every day! Thank you again, Posh Alcoholic and Mommy Loves Nail Polish!

Day 13 Pre-Spring Challenge Contest Sponging

1

Ta da! Here is my sponge/gradient/ombre manicure. Big exhale! I will be trying to incorporate more sponging in future manicure now that I’m no longer afraid of it! I taped up my cuticles and started with a white base coat, Essie’s blanc. I used a make-up sponge and dabbed it up and down a bit to get a better blend. I like how it turned out. I used three shades of purple but I’m not sure if you can clearly see that. Hopefully you can! The challenge is almost and I’m gonna miss it! I’m really glad I joined in on it!
