Halloween Stylin’

DSC_0557

Here’s my Halloween style manicure. I used thin nail art tape and OPI’s Tomorrow Never Dies along with Barry M’s Black Nail Paint.

I really like how these colours compliment each other. The Black Nail Paint was a dream to paint over the purple and tape. It’s nice and thick without being gooey. Maybe that’s because it’s a new bottle. I’ve had really goopy black nail polish before, it was Sally Hansen brand.

Tomorrow Never Dies is becoming one of my favourite polishes. It’s a really pretty shade of purple. I think it’s nice for nights out, but it could also be a good day time polish for this time of year. It requires at least 2 coats, because there will be bald patches.

Vampy Nails

Here’s a real simple look I did the other evening. I used OPI’s Color So Hot It Berns and a black nail art jewel. I have so many cute little accessories that I need to start using! 🙂 The jewel gives the manicure a little more edge I think. It’s also super quick and easy to do.

Between the French Maid looking nails, and these, I feel I’m veering towards Halloween! The stores here are already selling Christmas candy, but no Halloween stuff yet. Which is sad, because Halloween came from Ireland. True story! It came from pagans.

What do you think? You like? Got any other color combo suggestions? 🙂

French Maid Style

1

If my blog was a pet it would be starved for attention! Posting regularly is something I really need to work on. It doesn’t help that I’m not allowed to wear nail polish at work!

This black polish is Barry M. I picked it up while on honeymoon in London. Like all Barry M polishes it glides on smoothly and only needs two coats. I decided it was too plain by itself though and pulled out my bundle monster stamps. I used BM 316 to create the lacy effect.

If I was to dress up as a French maid for Halloween I would rock these nails with the outfit!

This was one of the last nice days we’ve had here. Right now it’s blustery and a little cold out! Boo!

Fake Nails

Last week for Halloween I dressed up as a cat. I got to wear my costume twice, once for a party and once at work. For the party I painted my nails and used nail stickers for a french manicure effect, the accent nail was a white cat. Here’s the link to that manicure.

https://nailartforfunn.wordpress.com/2012/10/29/meow/

The second time I got to wear my costume it was for work. I am an elementary school teacher in Seoul. Last Friday I decided to use fake nails to go with my costume. I thought they would be less time-consuming than painting my nails. I haven’t worn fake nails since I was a teenager. I quickly remembered why! Initially I was glad that I didn’t need to use glue, the nails came with double-sided little inserts instead. However, I knew as soon as I put them on that they wouldn’t work, not for me. They were too long and really thin, it felt like I was wearing fragile plastic talons. Totally uncomfortable.

Before I took them off (they lasted about 20 mins) I took a few pictures.

Got any fake nail experiences you’d like to share? Or know of any really great brands?

Halloween Manicure!

Halloween, I am READY for you!

I wasn’t sure what to do with my nails for this festive occasion. There are so many possibilities !! I looked on Google images and picked five of my favorite looks to make up my spooky manicure!! This look kind of took me out of my comfort zone as it was nail art heavy!  I found the pumpkin really challenging, it was difficult to keep a steady hand! I love how the thumb nail turned out and I love this manicure! I already got complimented on it by a total stranger, that always feels great!

Here are some close-ups.

My favorite is the fangs, what’s yours? 🙂

Don’t Mess With Me Mani

These are my tough girl nails.

Here is what I used to create this manicure. As you’ve probably guessed by now I am a HUGE OPI fan!

I bought the nail art stickers in Japan. I was there recently and was really excited to buy some nail art supplies. Everything was really expensive but I still picked up some nice bits and pieces. (I’m sure these nail stickers can be bought ANYWHERE but since I live in Korea some times nail accessories can be hard to source)
