The Girl with the Butterfly Print Nails

DSC_0265

Here’s a look inspired by a beautiful dark blue dress I saw the other day. This Sephora by OPI polish (Opening Night) is a perfect match with it, and I think the butterflies add a little magic to the look. I used Konad stamping plate m21, and Konad silver stamping polish.

The butterflies are really not that visable, it’s only when the light hits them, or if someone is really looking closely that they appear.

I haven’t stamped in months, so some of the butterflies are a little askew. But this was fun, so I may have to go back to my stamps again soon. 🙂

Fan Nails

1

Feels like it’s been forever since I’ve posted on my blog about nails! Things like working 12 hour shifts, planning a wedding, hanging out with people I haven’t seen in a while have all taken up my time, oh and working out too!! I got a trainer, his favorite word to describe me is ‘disaster’! It’s a complicated relationship. Anyway, I can’t promise a whole load of future posts, but I will try to make more of a nail art effort in the future!! I am, as always, enjoying lots of YOUR blogs and posts.

Here are some ‘fan’ nails I did a little while ago. This look is GREAT when you just don’t have time for delicate and intricate detail. A few quick swipes and a little clean-up and you’re good to go.

I used OPI’s Red Lights Ahead. . . Where? and Essie’s Blanc.

Barry M’s Greenberry

DSC_0118

This is Barry M’s Greenberry. I bought it because I love these kinds of colors, they remind me summer is coming and they are bright and cheerful. This was no exception. I thought it might have been a bit dark when I applied it but I shouldn’t have worried! The color POPS off my nails, fabulous! (if I do say so myself) The polish was a bit streaky and I ran into the usual problem with streaky polishes, I put on too many thick layers and then it dents before it dries, anyone else do that?

Since I knew I was gonna swatch them I HAD to do something with this polish! So I used OPI’s The Man With The Golden Gun. I think this is my most expensive polish!! And I’ve only used it twice, my mam loves it, she’s amazed that it has 18 carat gold in it. Hmm, maybe she likes it a little TOO much, better keep it away from her! Anyway, I think it looks pretty smart with that top coat.

Finished day two of my job at the hospital! Tomorrow I only have a short day, it’s been great so far, staff are so lovely and the patients are fun and in good spirits! It’s really hard physical work but it’s rewarding and the time flies and I feel really useful which is great!! No hanging around the house for me!! I do miss not wearing nail polish though! It’s prob a good break for my nails.

OPI Barefoot in Barcelona

Hey! Short post today, lots going on here. 🙂 This is Barefoot in Barcelona and I just made it a little more interesting with some black lace from Etude House.

Today my Glossy Box arrived, so did my swap with Julie from Short and Sweet in Texas! So I’ll have lots to blog about in the next few days! 🙂

I remember buying this colour because I wanted to broaden my colour spectrum. It wasn’t because I loved the shade or anything. But, now I see it and have worn it I really love this color and look. It’s subtle, and smooth, and warm, and I love it!

Moonraker

Hey everyone!

This manicure is from January. It’s really simple and I wore it for an ‘open day’. That’s when parents come and watch you teach a class (nerve wracking!) So, I wanted something a little profesh and I this is what I used. It needs three coats and looking at the pictures now maybe it could have done with a fourth! Oh well, it got me through an important work day. 🙂

OPI’s Moonraker from the Bond Collection.

Jigsaw Nails

Hey everyone!

These are my jigsaw nails. I’ve always wanted to try these out! They look really good but they did take a long time to do. I used, Essie (blanc), OPI (Strawberry Margarita), and The Face Shop (light purple).

I’m looking forward to wearing them out tonight. Every second Tuesday Greg hosts a Trivia night in one of our local bars. It’s always fun to sit with my friends and do the quiz. I’m always really proud of him and the effort he makes to keep it really fun. Tonight is the last night because we are leaving in a couple of weeks. All our friends will be there and I’m really looking forward to the evening  and of course rocking these nails!!! 🙂 1
