Henna Style Stamping

1

How much do I love stamping manicures? A lot! For this manicure I wanted the stamping polish to really pop. I think Barefoot in Barcelona matched up really well with my red Konad stamping polish. It reminds me of henna art. I used Bundle Monster stamping plate BM 306.

It’s a little strange not having to do a specific manicure every day now that the pre-spring challenge contest is over! Congratulations to the winners Short and Sweet in Texas and Up Close and Polished. Both girls created beautiful manicures throughout the contest. 🙂

Day 13 Pre-Spring Challenge Contest Sponging

1

Ta da! Here is my sponge/gradient/ombre manicure. Big exhale! I will be trying to incorporate more sponging in future manicure now that I’m no longer afraid of it! I taped up my cuticles and started with a white base coat, Essie’s blanc. I used a make-up sponge and dabbed it up and down a bit to get a better blend. I like how it turned out. I used three shades of purple but I’m not sure if you can clearly see that. Hopefully you can! The challenge is almost and I’m gonna miss it! I’m really glad I joined in on it!

Day 12 Pre-Spring Challenge Contest Stripes

4

1

I’ve got a big smile on my face writing this post. This day six months will be my wedding day. Big changes and moves are coming soon and I’m excited!

Another reason I’m smiling is because I learned another technique through this challenge. I learned how to use my fan brush to create these funky stripes. I watched a video on YouTube and tried it out! So, in two weeks I finally nailed sponging/gradient nails AND can now use my brushes more effectively! I can’t wait to do this manicure again with different colors! I really love this effect!

Happy Friday everyone! 🙂 2 3 For this mani the base coat was Essie Blanc, then the stripes are OPI Strawberry Margarita and OPI Fly.

Day 11 Pre-Spring Challenge Contest Beach

DSC_2934

I did it, I finally did it! I nailed gradient nails! Yay!!! It’s taken me MONTHS!! This makes me so glad I decided to do this challenge! Thanks again to Posh Alcoholic  and Mommy Loves Nail Polish for setting this up! I watched a great video on you tube on how to do this manicure and I just followed it step by step. I also checked out this great step by step picture tutorial created by my friend Lekker Lacquer here. I used a make up sponge for the gradient instead of the black nail art sponges I previously used. Then I used my thin black nail art polish and drew on the palm trees. And now, with these nails, I feel I need to be holding a cocktail! 🙂 DSC_2937 DSC_2940

For this look I used Sally Hansen Lightening, OPI Strawberry Margarita, and OPI Red Lights Ahead. . . Where? and a black thin brush polish to draw on the palm tree.

I got the idea for this mani from a google image search. Here’s the original image. I really like how it turned out! When I was painting my nails there were so many bottles on the table lol!  And I gotta give some credit to my fiance Greg who suggested I stamp over the bright colors (sometimes he likes to butt in and give advice when I’m doing my nails lol!) 4Colors used, Sally Hansen Lightening, (yellow) The Face Shop, Face It  (blue, peach, orange and light purple), Prorance (green), OPI Color So Hot It Berns, OPI Red Lights Ahead . . . Where? OPI Strawberry Margarita, OPI Fly, OPI Lourve Me, Lourve Me Not. BM plate 313 and White Konad stamping polish.

Day 6 Pre-Spring Challenge Contest Sun

DSC_2767

I was kinda stumped when it came to the sun theme. I wasn’t sure what to do then I decided to go with a  solar flare type theme. I used OPI’s Color So Hot It Berns and then using clingfilm I dabbed Sally Hansen’s Lightening over it. I like how it turned out. The pictures with the bluish tinge were taken using daylight. The others are from my light box  I’m having some color issues at the moment with my camera so I’m experimenting with different light etc. DSC_2774 DSC_2809 DSC_2822

Day 2 Pre-Spring Challenge Contest Pink

1

For day two the theme is pink and I decided to keep it simple and use my fav pink ever which is OPI’s Strawberry Margarita. I stamped gold Konad stamping polish over it. I used BM-315. I really love the paisley print. It was really difficult to capture the color because it is so light and shimmery. It’s a very subtle look, you really need the light to catch the stamping polish. But I really love it!2

Tinsel Town Sephora by OPI (my swatch marathon!) Part One

I picked this set up in Sephora when I was in Florida. I was REALLY excited to get home and swatch them all. But, there are a lot of polishes in the set and I got a little burnt out swatching them all! I tried them all on and then put the Only Gold For Me topcoat over all of them. I was really happy with the quality, colors, and range of the polishes in this set. It ticked all the boxes for me. I feel like it’s one I’ll turn to when I’m not sure which color to pick. Also, it’s great for me because I’m pretty bad to buy more subtle colors and this set has a few of those.

My fav subtle shade is A True Romantic. My fav bold color is A Cherry On Top. Enjoy!

OPI James Bond Skyfall Collection

DSC_2531

From left to right they are: Casino Royale, You Only Live Twice, Live And Let Die, Moonraker, The Living Daylights, Die Another Day, The Man With The Golden Gun, The Spy Who Loved Me, Skyfall, Golden Eye, Tomorrow Never Dies, On Her Majesty’s Secret Service, The World Is Not Enough.

I may be one of the last people to review this collection but I don’t care! 🙂 As many of you know I spent Christmas in the States meeting my future in-laws. While there my              uh-mazing fiance gifted me TONS of nail polish for my birthday/Christmas! I couldn’t wait to get home and enjoy it all!

When I got home I impatiently swatched about a million polishes frantically trying to ‘capture’ them all. I kind of burnt out after a few days. Then I started to wonder why I was so eager to swatch them at all? I mean, when can you enjoy the polish if you’re just putting it on and off like a robot? It’s not that I don’t enjoy swatching and reviewing polishes it’s just when there are so MANY new polishes to enjoy why not just chill out and wear some of them for more than 30 mins? That’s just me! I enjoy seeing everyone’s swatches so plz don’t take any of this personally.

I’m posting about the Skyfall collection and originally I was gonna swatch each one bla bla bla but now I’ve decided to be disorganised and just have fun. So far, I’ve only worn two of the polishes, excluding the 18 carat gold topcoat.,  which I LOVE

Die Another DayDSC_2536

I wore this Thursday to work. I love the peppy shade it’s a tangy orange-y shade which is still reddish enough not to be garish. It was the perfect shade to build up to Friday! It applied really smoothly and needed only two coats. I gotta say OPI’s still my favourite brand for quality and ease of application.

Die Another Day with The Man With The Golden Gun over it. DSC_2542

I HAD to try out The Man With The Golden Gun! I was so excited! I think it turned out well and I do really love it but next time I think I’ll use more. It’s kind of hard to know what’s on the brush as you can’t see into the bottle. Also, sometimes not a lot comes out and you have to get rid of the clear polish to get to the golden parts. It’s a great polish, it just needs a little care when applying.

More posts on this collection coming your way in the future! Have a great weekend everyone! 🙂

Teal and Lace

1

Here’s a quick and easy mani I did yesterday. I used OPI’s ‘Fly’ and lace stickers from The Face Shop. I haven’t used lace in a mani before and I really like the effect. Excuse my dry hands, the weather here is Seoul is brutal at the moment. Plus I never drink enough water! 2 3

Cinderella Sephora by OPI

1

I got this set as a Christmas gift this year. The polishes are all 3.75 ml. The names, from right to left are: So Totally Enchanted, Step Off, Sister! I Blue My Curfew, Bibbidi, Bobbidi, Pink!, Self-Maid Millionaire and Rags to Rhinestones. Each polish needed three coats.

This first polish is super cute, it glides on really well. Even though it’s such a small bottle the brush size is still good. I needed multiple coats to avoid bald patches but it was worth the extra time it took. This polish is also great as an undercoat to glittery polishes.

2

This is Step Off, Sister! I put it on over So Totally Enchanted. I felt they worked really well together. The polish is loaded with really fine glitter. It’s so fine that it feels pretty smooth when dry. I just needed one layer of top coat to smooth it over.

3

I Blue My Curfew is beautiful with subtle blue glitter throughout it. BUT big negative with this polish. It totally stained my nails blue even though I was wearing a base coat. That’s a super negative in my book. Pity because I really love the colour.

4

I applied Bibbidi, Bobbidi, Pink! over I Blue My Curfew. I think it looks a little oriental. Reminds me of Japanese Kimonos or something. I love the way these two compliment each other. They are very fairytale – like.

5

Self-Maid Millionaire also required three coats. Bald patches were a problem with this one.

6

Rags to Rhinestones compliments Self-Maid Millionaire really well. I always like to have base coats under my glitter polishes so this little set is perfect for me. I like all the colours but I’m happy the bottles are small because I can easily store them and let’s face it I have so many bottles of polish  I’m probably not going to wear these again for a while. I really don’t need the full sizes! This is a great gift to give someone.

Here’s all the mani’s together! 🙂
