This is my one and only Julep polish. Thanks to Julie from Short and Sweet in Texas for sending it to me in a swap. It’s called Minnie, and my mom’s worn it a lot more than I have! I greatly dislike how difficult it is to apply. It’s even harder to apply it on someone else’s nails. BUT, I do LOVE the colour. I mean, look at it, it’s amazing!

My nails remind me of a cute sweater!

These little beads are so much fun, I love the effect. I did of course manage to spill some all over my desk so I’m sure I’ll be finding them in the days to come!

A couple of times I accidentally used a silver bead instead of a gold one, can you spot where?

Barry M’s Greenberry

DSC_0118

This is Barry M’s Greenberry. I bought it because I love these kinds of colors, they remind me summer is coming and they are bright and cheerful. This was no exception. I thought it might have been a bit dark when I applied it but I shouldn’t have worried! The color POPS off my nails, fabulous! (if I do say so myself) The polish was a bit streaky and I ran into the usual problem with streaky polishes, I put on too many thick layers and then it dents before it dries, anyone else do that?

Since I knew I was gonna swatch them I HAD to do something with this polish! So I used OPI’s The Man With The Golden Gun. I think this is my most expensive polish!! And I’ve only used it twice, my mam loves it, she’s amazed that it has 18 carat gold in it. Hmm, maybe she likes it a little TOO much, better keep it away from her! Anyway, I think it looks pretty smart with that top coat.

Finished day two of my job at the hospital! Tomorrow I only have a short day, it’s been great so far, staff are so lovely and the patients are fun and in good spirits! It’s really hard physical work but it’s rewarding and the time flies and I feel really useful which is great!! No hanging around the house for me!! I do miss not wearing nail polish though! It’s prob a good break for my nails.

Gold Glitter Gradient

1

Yay for EASY nail art!Because let’s face it there are some evenings when I don’t want a manicure to take over an hour 🙂 I already posted about this great gradient kit from Etude house, that post covered the silver kit. Since Christmas seems to be the season for glitter polishes I thought a glitter gradient would give a simple manicure a nice twist and still be really fast to do. (are you getting I’m really pressed for time these days?! lol!)

What do you do when you want a pretty manicure but don’t have the time? Lemme know! I want your ideas haha!!

Modi Glam Nails Swatches and Reviews

This is my second about this range of glitter polishes. The Modi range was so fun I had to go buy more and show you! My previous post covered a red, black and white,  multicoloured glitter. You can read it here.

This time I bought a creamy glitter with multicoloured pieces. This polish has square, circle, and hexagon shaped glitter throughout. The thing I love about these polishes is that they don’t hold back on the glitter. I don’t normally like creamy polishes but I did enjoy wearing this one. It’s cheerful and peppy.  This was two coats. I think you can see little bubbles underneath the polish because I used a peel off base coat. It was worth that not to deal with removing the polish the standard way!

I paired this glitter with OPI’s Fly from the Nicki Minaj range. I think they compliment each other quite well. As with all glitter polishes from this range they are so packed with glitter you have to be careful that too much doesn’t come out.

Butterflies ‘n’ Bling

OK, where to start? This manicure is the result of me not being able to decide on a ‘look’ and instead trying to combine three different styles! Ever have one of those days where you just can’t decide what to do with your nails? Well, that was this manicure for me!

I started off with a golden glitter nail polish. It’s not a great brand to be honest. Face It is a Korean brand that I think tries to imitate the Body Shop. This polish NEVER seems to dry and chips easily. See bottom photo. I added butterflies to my thumb nail but quickly realized that wouldn’t work on all my nails so I changed to the OPI teal color.

Here’s what I used for this mani. I love love love the OPI ‘Fly’ it’s from the Nicki Minaj Spring 2012 collection. It’s PERFECT. Glides on the nail like a dream, great consistency and it’s so shiny even though it’s not a jelly polish. You could get away with one coat but I prefer two.

Here’s the original color!

What do you think of my mani?!!
