Halloween Stylin’

DSC_0557

Here’s my Halloween style manicure. I used thin nail art tape and OPI’s Tomorrow Never Dies along with Barry M’s Black Nail Paint.

I really like how these colours compliment each other. The Black Nail Paint was a dream to paint over the purple and tape. It’s nice and thick without being gooey. Maybe that’s because it’s a new bottle. I’ve had really goopy black nail polish before, it was Sally Hansen brand.

Tomorrow Never Dies is becoming one of my favourite polishes. It’s a really pretty shade of purple. I think it’s nice for nights out, but it could also be a good day time polish for this time of year. It requires at least 2 coats, because there will be bald patches.

Day 12 Pre-Spring Challenge Contest Stripes

I’ve got a big smile on my face writing this post. This day six months will be my wedding day. Big changes and moves are coming soon and I’m excited!

Another reason I’m smiling is because I learned another technique through this challenge. I learned how to use my fan brush to create these funky stripes. I watched a video on YouTube and tried it out! So, in two weeks I finally nailed sponging/gradient nails AND can now use my brushes more effectively! I can’t wait to do this manicure again with different colors! I really love this effect!

Happy Friday everyone! 🙂 2 3 For this mani the base coat was Essie Blanc, then the stripes are OPI Strawberry Margarita and OPI Fly.

Muffin and Stripes Manicure

Happy Friday everybody! I hope everyone has fun weekend plans. My plan is to have a  big fat glass of wine after work with my fiance, then another one with my best friend, and then sleep as much as possible this weekend! What are your plans?

I’ve seen this type of manicure all over pinterest and I decided I was in a nail art kind of mood so I tried it! I like how cheerful it is! The accent nail was a little challenging. Just trying to get the white part of the muffin to look good took a little time. I used a dotting tool. It’s not my best manicure but it’s one of my brightest!

I used OPI’s Strawberry Margarita for the base. A purple nail art polish with a really thin brush helped me make the stripes. For the accent nail I used Sally Hansen’s White On and for the little dots of colour on the muffin I used Sally Hansen Insta dry (for the blue and yellow) the peach colour came from The Face Shop. So did the red cherry on top. They don’t have shade names it just says The Face Shop on them. I can’t complain about that because they were about 90c each! The base coat for the accent nail is a glitter polish from a store here called Missha.
