Halloween Stylin’

DSC_0557

Here’s my Halloween style manicure. I used thin nail art tape and OPI’s Tomorrow Never Dies along with Barry M’s Black Nail Paint.

I really like how these colours compliment each other. The Black Nail Paint was a dream to paint over the purple and tape. It’s nice and thick without being gooey. Maybe that’s because it’s a new bottle. I’ve had really goopy black nail polish before, it was Sally Hansen brand.

Tomorrow Never Dies is becoming one of my favourite polishes. It’s a really pretty shade of purple. I think it’s nice for nights out, but it could also be a good day time polish for this time of year. It requires at least 2 coats, because there will be bald patches.

My Easter Manicure

2

These are my Easter nails. They go with my Easter chocolate! I like the cheerful yellow. I already blogged about this style of ombre nail art in light blue here, but I just love this design so much I wanted to do it again! (that doesn’t happen me very often!) I used Sally Hansen, Lightening and Essie, Blanc and a dotting tool too.

Tonight Greg and I and a few friends are having a going away party in our local. It’s happy/sad!! I’ll miss everyone I’ve gotten to know over the last four years but I’m really keen to get on with my life and get the wedding organised, go home to Ireland etc.!

I’m not going to think about it too much tonight I’m just going to have a good time with friends and wine! (and shots!)

These are the perfect nails for my evening, cheerful and bright!

Have a good weekend everyone! 🙂

Day 14 Pre-Spring Challenge Contest Recreate Your Favorite Look

3

This was my favorite! I got a lot of compliments on it so that’s always a good indication!

I hope you like it too! I changed it a little this time. I swapped a Ciate base coat for Sally Hansen.  The difference is that the sky is a little brighter and sparkly. Here’s the first version.

I’m sad that the challenge is over now, I had a lot of fun and it was really great to pick up a few new techniques and see everyone’s manicure every day! Thank you again, Posh Alcoholic and Mommy Loves Nail Polish!

Day 11 Pre-Spring Challenge Contest Beach

DSC_2934

I did it, I finally did it! I nailed gradient nails! Yay!!! It’s taken me MONTHS!! This makes me so glad I decided to do this challenge! Thanks again to Posh Alcoholic  and Mommy Loves Nail Polish for setting this up! I watched a great video on you tube on how to do this manicure and I just followed it step by step. I also checked out this great step by step picture tutorial created by my friend Lekker Lacquer here. I used a make up sponge for the gradient instead of the black nail art sponges I previously used. Then I used my thin black nail art polish and drew on the palm trees. And now, with these nails, I feel I need to be holding a cocktail! 🙂 DSC_2937 DSC_2940

For this look I used Sally Hansen Lightening, OPI Strawberry Margarita, and OPI Red Lights Ahead. . . Where? and a black thin brush polish to draw on the palm tree.

I got the idea for this mani from a google image search. Here’s the original image. I really like how it turned out! Where? OPI Strawberry Margarita, OPI Fly, OPI Lourve Me, Lourve Me Not. BM plate 313 and White Konad stamping polish.

Day 6 Pre-Spring Challenge Contest Sun

DSC_2767

I was kinda stumped when it came to the sun theme. I wasn’t sure what to do then I decided to go with a  solar flare type theme. I used OPI’s Color So Hot It Berns and then using clingfilm I dabbed Sally Hansen’s Lightening over it. I like how it turned out. The pictures with the bluish tinge were taken using daylight. The others are from my light box  I’m having some color issues at the moment with my camera so I’m experimenting with different light etc. DSC_2774 DSC_2809 DSC_2822

Day 5 Pre-Spring Challenge Constest Sky

1

So far this is my fav mani of the challenge. I started off doing daytime skies then decided night was better. These remind me of my galaxy nails but I think these are more subtle. I sponged the clouds on. I dabbed glitter polish over them to make them seem a little more shiny.

Here’s what I used, Essie, ‘blanc’, Ciate, Powerdressing, Face It light blue  polish. Sally Hansen’s Something Blue for the glittery effect on the clouds. 2 3 4 5 6best

In-law Nails!

1 2

Hey everyone, In the morning I’m flying to the states to meet my in-laws for the first time! I’ll be spending Christmas in Florida! I’m so excited! I really want to make  a good impression so I took a lot of care with my nails, I hope you like the results, I hope my future mother in law likes them too! Wish me luck guys! The stamping plate is Bundle Monster BW-319. I used Konad white stamping polish and Sally Hanson’s Xtreme Wear Blue It. 3 PicMonkey Collage

I was very excited when my bundle monster package arrived last week. But, because work has been so cray all week I didn’t have much time to fool around with the plates. I’ll have more time in January so watch out for some stamping manicures then! And hopefully I’ll have picked up some nice nail art supplies in the states! 🙂

Penguins!

Because who doesn’t love penguins?!I got inspiration for this manicure  here. Sometimes I really like to see if I can recreate the manicures I see online. I think that’s ok, as long as I always give credit for the image and don’t try to pass the original idea off as my own, what do you guys think about that?

Purple Stamping Manicure

1

Hey everybody! Hope you are all enjoying the weekend! Today’s post is just a simple stamping manicure I did a while ago. I bought a range of Konad stamping polishes and wanted to test out the purple one. I was disappointed with the Sally Hansen polish Nude Now. I felt it made my nails look weirdly stained and it wasn’t opaque at all. I would have preferred a creamier polish.  The stamping plate used was Konad M2.

Snowflake Manicure

1

This is a subtle Christmas manicure. The snowflakes look great when the light hits them.

I used Konad stamping plate m59 and silver and gold Konad stamping polish. The green is Sally Hansen Xtreme wear and the red is OPI’s Color So Hot It Berns.  I really love how the snowflakes turned out. My nails remind me of wrapping paper! 🙂

I’m sure i’ll be seeing lots of Christmas themed manicures this month 🙂 Can’t wait!!! I know I will be trying a few myself. 23
