Day 11 Pre-Spring Challenge Contest Beach

DSC_2934

I did it, I finally did it! I nailed gradient nails! Yay!!! It’s taken me MONTHS!! This makes me so glad I decided to do this challenge! Thanks again to Posh Alcoholic  and Mommy Loves Nail Polish for setting this up! I watched a great video on you tube on how to do this manicure and I just followed it step by step. I also checked out this great step by step picture tutorial created by my friend Lekker Lacquer here. I used a make up sponge for the gradient instead of the black nail art sponges I previously used. Then I used my thin black nail art polish and drew on the palm trees. And now, with these nails, I feel I need to be holding a cocktail! 🙂 DSC_2937 DSC_2940

For this look I used Sally Hansen Lightening, OPI Strawberry Margarita, and OPI Red Lights Ahead. . . Where? and a black thin brush polish to draw on the palm tree.

Day 9 Pre-Spring Challenge Contest Rainbow

1 2 3

I got the idea for this mani from a google image search. Here’s the original image. I really like how it turned out! When I was painting my nails there were so many bottles on the table lol!  And I gotta give some credit to my fiance Greg who suggested I stamp over the bright colors (sometimes he likes to butt in and give advice when I’m doing my nails lol!) 4Colors used, Sally Hansen Lightening, (yellow) The Face Shop, Face It  (blue, peach, orange and light purple), Prorance (green), OPI Color So Hot It Berns, OPI Red Lights Ahead . . . Where? OPI Strawberry Margarita, OPI Fly, OPI Lourve Me, Lourve Me Not. BM plate 313 and White Konad stamping polish.

Day 8 Pre-Spring Challenge Contest Jewelery

1

I don’t know if it’s because I live in Korea or what but it’s so easy to find nail bling here! These cost less than a dollar and are in all the beauty stores. So, I gotta admit this manicure took about 10 mins to do! Yay for the easy ones! I got the stickers from Etude House. It’s a great chain of beauty stores they sell everything from make-up to nail art products all for really cheap.

The one bad thing about these jewel stickers was that they curled up at the ends. It was like they didn’t want to bend! I couldn’t get them to lay flat so I took them off after I photographed this mani. Anyone know how to get around that?

The base polish is Eclipse 103. 2 3 4

Day 6 Pre-Spring Challenge Contest Sun

DSC_2767

I was kinda stumped when it came to the sun theme. I wasn’t sure what to do then I decided to go with a  solar flare type theme. I used OPI’s Color So Hot It Berns and then using clingfilm I dabbed Sally Hansen’s Lightening over it. I like how it turned out. The pictures with the bluish tinge were taken using daylight. The others are from my light box  I’m having some color issues at the moment with my camera so I’m experimenting with different light etc. DSC_2774 DSC_2809 DSC_2822

Day 5 Pre-Spring Challenge Constest Sky

1

So far this is my fav mani of the challenge. I started off doing daytime skies then decided night was better. These remind me of my galaxy nails but I think these are more subtle. I sponged the clouds on. I dabbed glitter polish over them to make them seem a little more shiny.

Here’s what I used, Essie, ‘blanc’, Ciate, Powerdressing, Face It light blue  polish. Sally Hansen’s Something Blue for the glittery effect on the clouds. 2 3 4 5 6best

Day 4 Pre-Spring Challenge Contest Flowers

1

Today’s theme is flowers. I tried for ages to dot some on then I decided to use my transfers for the job! The weather here is Seoul is miserable! So it was nice to have a spring type flower mani to wear!

For this mani I used Face It Nail polish, it has no name. I used nail transfers for the flowers. I love how the poppy’s look with the peachy base coat. They are perfect for spring time! 🙂 2 3 4

Day 2 Pre-Spring Challenge Contest Pink

1

For day two the theme is pink and I decided to keep it simple and use my fav pink ever which is OPI’s Strawberry Margarita. I stamped gold Konad stamping polish over it. I used BM-315. I really love the paisley print. It was really difficult to capture the color because it is so light and shimmery. It’s a very subtle look, you really need the light to catch the stamping polish. But I really love it!2

Day 1 Pre-Spring Challenge Contest (PSCC1) Yellow

1It’s my first time entering in a challenge and I’m a little nervous! I hope my manis don’t look too crappy beside all the others! Today’s challenge was yellow. I used Ciate Big Yellow Taxi, Bundle Monster Plate 311 (BM-311). I also used black Konad stamping polish and gold beads that I picked up in Japan last year and never got around to using.

Thanks to Polish Alcoholic and Mommy Loves Nail Polish for setting this up!

Tinsel Town Sephora by OPI (my swatch marathon!) Part One

t.town

I picked this set up in Sephora when I was in Florida. I was REALLY excited to get home and swatch them all. But, there are a lot of polishes in the set and I got a little burnt out swatching them all! I tried them all on and then put the Only Gold For Me topcoat over all of them. I was really happy with the quality, colors, and range of the polishes in this set. It ticked all the boxes for me. I feel like it’s one I’ll turn to when I’m not sure which color to pick. Also, it’s great for me because I’m pretty bad to buy more subtle colors and this set has a few of those.

My fav subtle shade is A True Romantic. My fav bold color is A Cherry On Top. Enjoy!
